Fall 2026 Cohorts

CompTIA Network+ Cohort

Facilitator: Kurt K. Torok

Participate in a community of learning centered around core networking principles to secure infrastructure and prepare for the CompTIA Network+ certification exam.

Key Objectives
  • Understand foundational networking concepts, models, and topologies.
  • Align learning with the official CompTIA Exam Blueprint.
  • Engage in group discussions on exam topics and review common test questions prior to sitting for the exam.

CompTIA Security+ Cohort

Facilitator: Mike Schonert

Engage in a peer cohort to strengthen your grasp of IT security and directly apply best practices to your role in K-12 education.

Key Objectives
  • Learn to treat IT security as a foundational requirement rather than an afterthought in IT operations.
  • Build exam confidence through practice tests.
  • Achieve official CompTIA Security+ certification.

CrowdStrike Falcon Cohort

Facilitator: Eric Feldhusen

Build on statewide experience with CrowdStrike Falcon over the past two years to expand cybersecurity capabilities and grow the statewide K-12 cybersecurity community.

Key Objectives
  • Master major features and workflows of the CrowdStrike Falcon platform.
  • Earn the CrowdStrike Falcon Administrator certification.

AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Cohort

Facilitator: Mike Coats

Follow a structured, collaborative learning path designed to build foundational AWS Cloud knowledge—tailored specifically for K-12 technology environments.

Key Objectives
  • Develop a solid understanding of AWS Cloud concepts, the AWS shared responsibility model, and security best practices.
  • Gain hands-on familiarity with core AWS compute, storage, networking, and database services.
  • Prepare to pass the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02) exam by the end of the cohort.
